Part-Time Keyholder (Non-Exempt) – Westfield Century City (Los Angeles, CA)

The hourly rate for this role is $20.50 USD per hour – part-time, non-exempt position.

Applicants must hold a valid US work visa or permanent residency. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

The Opportunity

Century City is where we plant our flag in US soil. This Keyholder position is our most important hire outside of our management team. As a Keyholder, you’re the team member that sets the selling culture of the store — you are the standard every associate looks to on the floor!

  • In a new market with a brand that customers are meeting for the first time, the Keyholder is responsible for making that first impression count and making sure customers come back.
  • Your primary job is to sell — and to sell very well. You are expected to have the deepest product knowledge on the floor, to lead by example in every customer interaction, and to help less experienced team members develop by what they see you doing every shift.
  • You will process stock alongside the rest of the team, lead the opening and closing of the store on your shifts, and be the go-to person when a customer has a question that needs a definitive answer.

Who are we?

Industrie Clothing was founded in 1999 and is an institution in Australian men’s fashion. We are known for modern, practical and instinctively masculine clothing crafted with premium fabrics and clean, wearable and considered designs made to last.

With over 120 stores across Australia and a solid online presence, we are ready to introduce the brand to the US market.

Opening our first US retail store in Century City is a deliberate choice. It is a world class shopping centre that attracts the kind of customer who is quality and value-conscious, discerning and invested in how they present themselves. We know Industrie will resonate here, we just need the right person and team behind them to bring this to life.

Responsibilities:

As a Keyholder, you’ll be the team member we trust to open or close the store, hold the keys, and lead the floor when a manager is not present. This is not a management role in the formal sense, but it carries real responsibility and requires real judgment.

  • Operate as the responsible person on shift during opening and/or closing, and at any time when a manager is not present on the floor
  • Deliver consistently outstanding personal sales results (conversion, UPT, and ATV), which are your professional benchmarks
  • Monitor floor conversion, UPT, and ATV daily and address gaps with the team in the moment
  • Maintain floor standards — replenishment, folding, sizing, and presentation — throughout the trading day
  • Coach sales associates on the floor in real time — not just by instruction, but by demonstration
  • Manage POS transactions accurately including sales, returns, exchanges, and gift card activations
  • Escalate any team, customer, or operational issues to a manager promptly and with clear information
  • Contribute actively to stocktakes and cycle counts

Salesfloor & Customer Experience

  • You own the entry zone — every customer is greeted within 60 seconds, no exceptions
  • Approach every customer with warmth, product confidence, and genuine interest in finding what they need
  • You lead the fitting room standard and consistently deliver knowledgeable, consultative service — fabrics, construction, fit guides, and outfit building are your strengths
  • Convert browsers into buyers through confidence, not pressure — our service standard is advisory, not pushy
  • Begin building relationships and a client book from opening week to create returning customers; remember faces, preferences, and past purchases where possible
  • Drive outreach for new arrivals, events, and relevant promotions to established clients
  • Drive add-on selling naturally and authentically — showing a second item should feel like a recommendation, not a routine
  • Process returns and exchanges accurately and in compliance with our California return policy — you should be able to explain it clearly to any customer
  • Handle POS transactions with accuracy and speed, including all payment types and gift card transactions
  • Maintain your own awareness of product availability, new arrivals, and upcoming markdowns

Stock Processing & Store Presentation

  • Receive and process stock deliveries on assigned shifts — count, check quality, tag, and prepare for the floor
  • Replenish the sales floor from stockroom stock as required throughout the shift — do not wait to be asked
  • Maintain the stockroom to the required standard on every shift you work
  • Process returns, transfers, and damaged stock according to procedures
  • Conduct cycle counts accurately and on time
  • Communicate stock concerns — missing sizes, low quantities, damaged packaging — to a manager immediately
  • Ensure all stock is correctly ticketed and security-tagged before it goes to the floor

Opening & Closing Expectations

  • Open the store independently on opening shifts — floor walk, POS setup, lighting, signage, and all pre-trade checks completed before the door opens
  • Verify the California § 1723 return policy notice is displayed at the register at the start of every opening shift
  • Close the store independently on closing shifts — POS reconciliation, cash count, Z-read, stockroom secured, alarm set, and building locked to the required standard
  • Hold and safeguard store keys and alarm codes — report any concerns about key security to management immediately
  • Perform opening and closing cash counts accurately and complete required documentation
  • Respond appropriately to any out-of-hours security alerts in line with company procedures

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 1 to 2 years of retail sales experience in a fashion, apparel, or lifestyle environment
  • Experience in menswear or premium retail preferred
  • Previous experience as a keyholder or shift leader advantageous
  • Strong personal sales track record — you can demonstrate results, not just describe them
  • Reliable, punctual, and comfortable with opening and closing responsibility
  • Familiarity with POS systems and basic stock processing
  • Confidence working toward individual conversion, UPT, and ATV targets
  • Flexible availability including weekends, late nights and peak trading periods
  • Applicants must hold a valid US work visa or permanent residency. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Genuinely passionate about menswear — you read it, you wear it, you talk about it with enthusiasm. You know how to build an outfit, not just fold one.
  • A natural seller who leads by doing — associates follow your example because your results speak for themselves.
  • Someone with LA market awareness — you understand this customer, what they respond to, and how to build loyalty
  • Comfortable with both the relationship side and the operational side — you can open the store, run the floor, and still be the best seller on shift
  • Confident and self-directed on the floor — you do not need to be told to approach a customer
  • Trustworthy and consistent — managers leave you in charge because they know the standard will not drop
  • A quiet leader — you influence the team through your own performance, not through authority
  • Resilient and positive — retail is fast, physical, and sometimes unpredictable; you take it in stride
  • Precise and tidy — your stock processing and floor maintenance reflect the same care as your selling
  • You have strong communication skills - approachable, engaging and professional
  • Polished and professional presentation

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and move throughout the store for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move up to 30 lbs
  • Ability to bend, reach, climb ladders and perform stockroom tasks

What we offer:

  • Hourly rate of $20.50 USD per hour depending on experience and qualifications – Non-Exempt
  • 35% staff discount on Industrie Product

We want to be upfront with you. This is our first store in the US, and building a customer base in a new market takes time. In the early months, you’ll be hands-on across all areas of the store; from selling on the floor to supporting stock and day-to-day operations.

We’re looking for someone who’s excited by that. Someone who brings energy, takes initiative, is happy to roll up their sleeves and be part of the team that helps make this brand a success in America.
